How to Measure
Measure your natural nails at home.
You'll need a strip of paper, a ruler, and a pen. It takes about three minutes total.
- 1Wrap a thin strip of paper across the widest part of your natural nail.
- 2Mark where the paper meets itself with a pen.
- 3Lay the paper flat and measure that distance in millimeters with a ruler.
- 4Repeat for each finger — your nails will likely be different sizes.
- 5Match each measurement to the closest size in our chart below.

Each finger has its own size — most hands use several different numbers across one set. Between sizes? Size up; a slightly larger nail can be gently filed down at the sides.
